Walk in and talk to
our caring support team

October marks Mental Health Month, a time dedicated to bringing people of all ages and backgrounds together to foster mental well-being resilience through community and connection.

We’re here to support people during times of emotional and suicidal distress. Through our network of Safe Spaces and Safe Havens across NSW, QLD and ACT, we offer free walk-in services that anyone can access. Appointments, Medicare cards and referrals are not needed.

We understand that the emergency department isn’t always the most suitable option for everyone.

Our Safe Spaces and Safe Havens offer warm, calm and welcoming spaces when you need them the most. Open after hours and on Saturdays, we’re here to provide an alternative, safe environment for the community.

Safe Space Blacktown

Safe Space Blacktown is funded by the Western Sydney Primary Health Network (WSPHN)

Safe Space Blacktown Open Day

For Mental Health Month, we are holding a drop-in, open day at our Blacktown Safe Space. We welcome anyone to join us in a range of activities run by our Peer Support Workers with lived experience. Be sure to keep an eye out on our Facebook page for more information.

What to expect when you visit us

When you step through our doors, you’ll discover a welcoming place staffed with compassionate peer support workers who have lived experience of mental health.

Our Peer Support Workers understand what it’s like to go through tough times or face mental health challenges. They also understand that in moments of distress, each person’s recovery needs will vary.

Safe Spaces and Safe Havens are guest-led. Our teams provide specialised support to everyone who visits, whether they need a listening ear, a space to think, referral pathways or safety planning. We can also assist guests to use sensory tools and create take-home strategies that work for them.

Parents, guardians, and carers looking for strategies and support for their loved ones are also welcome. Your journey towards mental wellness begins here, where you will be heard and understood. Find out where your nearest Safe Space or Space Haven is and drop in today!
