Head to Health Centres are now called Medicare Mental Health Centres

Parramatta Head to Health Centre and Launceston Head to Health Centre are now called Medicare Mental Health Centres. They still provide a welcoming place where everyone can access free and confidential mental health information, services and support.

Our services will remain free, open for extended hours, and you don’t need a referral, appointment or a Medicare card.

Over the next couple of months, you will notice signage at our centres and the look of communication materials will change to show the new Medicare Mental Health Centre name.

Medicare Mental Health Centres provide a welcoming place where everyone can access free and confidential mental health information, services and supports.

We offer an open door for people experiencing mental health challenges to be heard, find information, treatment and support and a path forward through the mental health system. If you are worried about a loved one or someone in your care needs mental health support, Medicare Mental Health Centres can help.

At Medicare Mental Health Centres, you will be able to access:

  • immediate, short- and medium-term mental health and wellbeing support
  • support and advice for navigating local mental health services
  • support for carers and families of people experiencing mental health distress
  • connections and referrals for ongoing support.
