Head to Health Centres are now called Medicare Mental Health Centres
Parramatta Head to Health Centre and Launceston Head to Health Centre are now called Medicare Mental Health Centres. They still provide a welcoming place where everyone can access free and confidential mental health information, services and support.
Our services will remain free, open for extended hours, and you don’t need a referral, appointment or a Medicare card.
Over the next couple of months, you will notice signage at our centres and the look of communication materials will change to show the new Medicare Mental Health Centre name.

What can I expect when I visit a Medicare Mental Health Centre?
Whether you’re trying to improve your own sense of wellbeing, looking for help with something that’s bothering you, or helping someone you care about, visiting a Medicare Mental Health Centre is a good place to start.
Inside every Medicare Mental Health Centre are professionals who can listen and help people to deal with whatever they are going through.
When you arrive, a trained health care professional will take the time to talk to you and understand your immediate needs. They may also make an appointment for you to visit again.
The centres are a normal part of everyday health care, offering a welcoming place to get free mental health support.
Medicare Mental Health Centre staff understand that everyone is different and has their own challenges. They will address your concerns with empathy, understanding and acceptance.
