Uplift provides a collaborative and integrative service to young people. Uplift consists of a multidisciplinary team that provides individual and group support based on the needs and goals of each young person.

Support includes evidence-based individualised psychological therapies, therapeutic case management, youth work, functional recovery, outreach support, access to medical care and access to education and employment services delivered by our onsite Individual Placement and Support (IPS) team.

What to expect

Uplift offers evidence-based mental health support that’s shaped around you and your goals. Our team works alongside you to improve wellbeing, build everyday life skills, and support study, work and personal goals. Care is practical, connected and focused on supporting your recovery.

For referrers

Referrals are accepted from GPs, community, service providers, school wellbeing staff, hospital and health services, as well as family and friends. Young people can also self-refer to Uplift Ipswich. On receipt of a referral, Uplift Ipswich will review the referral and contact the service provider to advise of outcome and then if applicable, will contact the young person to arrange an assessment.

We are a dedicated team of Peer Support Coordinators who use our personal experiences to help others. We have faced our own challenges with suicidal crises and are here to support you. Our services are available for 3 to 6 months. We aim to assist you in your recovery, guide you to ongoing support, and enhance your overall wellbeing.

How to access support

Universal Aftercare is a referral only service designed to support people who have presented to a participating hospital or established referral pathway, following a suicide attempt (primary criteria). The Service also accepts people who have presented in a suicidal crisis (secondary criteria).

What to expect

We’re committed to walking alongside you on your path to recovery, offering trauma-informed, proactive outreach for up to three months following a suicide attempt. Here’s how our peer support coordinators can help.

How we support kids and their families

At Stride Kids, we welcome families looking for a safe and friendly space to improve your child’s wellbeing.

In these early years, your child is developing important skills and attachments that play a huge role in their future wellbeing. These include the emotional and social skills they build during their interactions with others.

  • Assess your family’s needs
  • Work with you and your child to identify treatment goals
  • Provide counselling
  • Develop an individual support plan for your family
  • Assist you and your child to develop skills to manage emotional, behavioural or mental health concerns
  • Connect you with people and services that can assist with your goals and treatment plan.

How to access support

To access this free service, parents must have, or be eligible for, a Health Care Card and reside in the North Brisbane region.

About

The Cairns Youth Step Up Step Down (YSUSD) Manoora program is for young people aged 16 – 21 who have recently experienced, or are at increased risk of experiencing, an acute episode of mental unwellness or further deterioration.

The YSUSD program provides a residential environment that is welcoming, calm, safe and youth-friendly. During the day, young people have the opportunity to participate in structured programs, including group programs and individual clinical and recovery-focused interventions.

  • psychosocial support
  • group therapy
  • skill development
  • medication management.

Our program is centered on a recovery model, offering individualised support that encourages independence and skill-building for those recovering from mental health challenges.

What to expect

Once a referral is submitted, the team will review it to determine if the program is the most appropriate service for the individual’s needs. 

If accepted, the person will be contacted to begin the intake process and schedule a time to enter the program. If the referral is not accepted, the person will be directed to other appropriate services.
