Eastern Suburbs Stride (ESS) is a psychosocial groups program and has a rich history spanning over 25 years. It’s run by dedicated long-time Stride employees including Patricia, our second longest-serving employee.
The ESS team assist our group participants to improve their quality of life and most importantly their recovery from mental illness via outings to community locations like the beach, park and Ten Pin bowling.
Send our ESS team and email and one of our support workers will be in touch to find out about your interests and needs. There are variety of groups running on a weekly basis and these will be discussed with you. We’ll speak with you about a range of social, leisure and therapeutic programs that may suit your needs.
Our Transitional Supported Living services offer accommodation and support for those who are living with complex mental health concerns, receiving support from the Local Health District Community Mental Health Teams. Our accommodation in Biala is suitable for adults aged over 18.
Strides transitional supported living services provide intense mental health support with a strong focus on independent skill building and preparation for independent living.
If you, a family member or someone you care for is receiving support via NSW Health services you can ask to speak with them about eligibility for Transitional Supported Living.

We provide free, in-person help for adults aged 18 and over, including counselling, peer support, and assistance connecting with other local services.
You’ll find us in the heart of Dubbo, in a warm and welcoming space designed to make you feel comfortable. We’ll work with you to understand what’s going on and guide you toward the support that best suits your needs. You don’t need to have all the answers. We’re here to help you figure things out, one step at a time.

The Way Back – Penrith offers compassionate, non-clinical aftercare support service for people in the Penrith region following a suicide attempt. Our local peer support coordinators use their lived experience to connect you with vital support networks, clinical services, and community resources, guiding you on your journey toward healing.
The Way Back is a referral only service designed to support people who have presented to a participating hospital or established referral pathway, following a suicide attempt (primary criteria). The Service also accepts people who have presented in a suicidal crisis (secondary criteria).
We’re committed to walking alongside you on your path to recovery, offering trauma-informed, proactive outreach for up to three months following a suicide attempt. Here’s how our peer support coordinators can help.

Safe Haven Wollongong is proudly funded by Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District
Safe Haven Wollongong is a welcoming, quiet and comfortable place in the Wollongong community. It is an effective and accessible alternative to the local hospital department. No appointment is needed and services are free of charge.
Safe Havens provide the space for people 16+ experiencing suicidal thoughts and feelings or emotional distress to access support when they need it, in a calm and caring environment. They are a collaborative and innovative concept that works for the local community they are situated in. The space and support available have been designed in partnership with people who have been through tough times themselves and understand what does and doesn’t work.
No referral or appointment needed, a free, walk-in service and an alternative to hospital emergency departments for people experiencing psychological distress.

The staff at Safe Haven are Peer Support Workers, (people with a lived experience of mental health issues) and non-clinical Mental Health Support Workers.
Safe Havens promote the wellbeing of people through assistance and support to manage their experience of distress, both current and in the future, and reduce the need for people to access emergency departments when they are feeling unsafe.
Services at LikeMind Wagga Wagga are delivered via a consortium of partner agencies located onsite. The Murrumbidgee Local Health District are the principal partner with Stride in LikeMind Wagga Wagga.
