The Way Back – Penrith is a free peer support service operated through referral from Nepean Hospital. The service provides a trauma-informed, proactive outreach for up to 3 months following a suicide attempt. A referral from a nominated referral pathway is needed to access the services.
Once referred, our team springs into action to provide you with tailored support designed specifically with your needs in mind. We understand that each individual’s journey is unique, and we strive to tailor our support accordingly.

The Way Back – Penrith offers compassionate, non-clinical aftercare support service for people in the Penrith region following a suicide attempt. Our local peer support coordinators use their lived experience to connect you with vital support networks, clinical services, and community resources, guiding you on your journey toward healing.
The Way Back is a referral only service designed to support people who have presented to a participating hospital or established referral pathway, following a suicide attempt (primary criteria). The Service also accepts people who have presented in a suicidal crisis (secondary criteria).
