How to access support

Services will accept referrals of children and young people from any source, including self-referrals, and conduct an initial brief screening process to ensure this is the appropriate service for them.

A formal diagnosis of mental illness is not required to access these services. The young person might be experiencing sadness, excessive worry, fear, anger, fatigue, or boredom; having difficulties with peers, or struggling to cope with a significant life event.

What to expect

Our services are flexible and designed to meet the diverse and specific needs of families in the Cairns North, South and City area. Our aim is to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of kids and teens while working with each family.

Services include:

  • early intervention for children and families requiring intensive support
  • short-term assistance, information and referral
  • community outreach, home visits and group-based activities.

There are some services we don’t offer such as clinical or specialist medical, crisis, emergency relief, personal card and domestic help. However, we’re here to help and are able to connect you with the services you need.
