Service overview

Our Psychosocial supports are programs and activities which are designed to support people with severe mental illness and associated psychosocial disability to achieve their recovery goals.

This program is for adults who can not be supported through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Outreach and telehealth also available.

About

Our Bendigo team work with individuals whose psychosocial functioning is significantly affected by mental illness. This may be in partnership with their family and carers where appropriate.

We provide a wide range of non-clinical community-based support with the aim of assisting people with:

  • living independently
  • improving education skills
  • developing work goals
  • building family relationships
  • building broader life skills including resilience and confidence.

How to access support

Eligibility requirements to access Psychosocial Recovery Services (PRS) include:

  • having a severe mental illness which has a significant impact on psychosocial functioning
  • being aged 16 years and over
  • having needs that are responsive to low intensity support and con be appropriately met within 3 to 12 months
  • are not supported through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
