About

Dubbo Medicare Mental Health Centre makes accessing mental health support more straightforward and approachable. Whether you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or just need someone to talk to, our team is here to support you, no referral required.

We provide free, in-person help for adults aged 18 and over, including counselling, peer support, and assistance connecting with other local services.

You’ll find us in the heart of Dubbo, in a warm and welcoming space designed to make you feel comfortable. We’ll work with you to understand what’s going on and guide you toward the support that best suits your needs. You don’t need to have all the answers. We’re here to help you figure things out, one step at a time.

Our Dubbo team includes experienced and compassionate mental health professionals, from clinicians and counsellors to peer workers and support staff. Everyone brings their own expertise, but we’re all focused on the same thing: helping you feel safe, heard, and supported.

How to access support

You can walk in or give us a call, no appointment, referral or Medicare card needed. One of our friendly team members will take the time to understand how you’re feeling and support you in finding the right next steps.

What to expect

When you visit Dubbo Medicare Mental Health Centre, you’ll be welcomed into a warm and inclusive environment where you can feel safe and supported to be yourself. There’s no pressure or judgment, just a team that’s here to listen and support you, at your pace.

During your first visit, you’ll have an informal chat with a member of our team. We’ll talk about how you’re feeling and explore what kind of support might help. You might speak with a mental health clinician, a peer worker with lived experience, or one of our support staff. Everything you share is kept confidential, and you’re welcome to bring a support person if that makes you feel more comfortable.
