Safe Space Caboolture is proudly funded by Brisbane North Primary Health Network
Safe Space Caboolture is a warm, welcoming, non-clinical place that people can freely go to if they are experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, mental health concerns, isolation or loneliness. It is an effective and accessible alternative to the local hospital department. No appointment is needed, and services are free of charge. Ages 16+.
Safe Spaces provide a place for people experiencing suicidal thoughts and feelings or emotional distress to access support when they need it, in a calm and caring environment. They are a collaborative and innovative concept that works for the local community they are situated in. The space and support available have been designed in partnership with people who have been through tough times themselves and understand what does and doesn’t work.
Simply walk in or call for support. No appointment, referral or Medicare card is needed. A friendly team member will chat with you about how you’re feeling and help you figure out the next steps.
The staff at Safe Space Caboolture are Peer Support Workers, (people with a lived experience of mental health issues) and non-clinical Mental Health Support Workers.

The Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre is operated by Stride and supported by funding from Brisbane North Primary Health Network.
Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre is here to make it easier to access the mental health support you need, when you need it. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, going through a difficult time, or simply need someone to talk to, our team is here to help, no referral required.
We offer free, face-to-face support for adults aged 18 and over, including peer support and help connecting with other services in the community.
We’ll take the time to understand what you’re going through and work with you to find the kind of support that fits your life. You don’t need to have everything figured out. We’re here to work through it with you.
Our Caboolture team includes dedicated and compassionate mental health professionals, from clinicians to peer workers and support staff. Each person brings their own experience and expertise, but we all share one goal: to make sure you feel safe, supported, and heard.
Drop in or phone us, there’s no need for an appointment or referral. A friendly member of our team will chat with you about how you’re feeling and help guide you toward the support that’s right for you.
When you come to the Caboolture Medicare Mental Health Centre, you’ll be welcomed into a friendly and inclusive space where you can feel safe, respected, and supported. There’s no pressure or judgment, just a team ready to listen and walk alongside you at your own pace.
At your first visit, you’ll sit down for a relaxed chat with one of our team members. We’ll talk about how you’re feeling and what kind of support could be most helpful for you. You may meet with a mental health clinician, a peer worker with lived experience, or a support team member. Everything you share is private and confidential, and you’re welcome to bring a support person along if that helps you feel more at ease.
Telehealth may be available if required.
Stride Hub offers short- to medium-term support, both in the hub and through outreach in the Brisbane South community.
We work with people facing severe and complex mental health challenges, their families and carers to provide person-centred, recovery-oriented support. Our Stride Hub takes a holistic approach to mental health and wellbeing including offering support for the physical and social needs of every person we support.
To be eligible for our services, individuals must have a severe and complex mental illness and live in our Brisbane South catchment region.
It’s easy for you to access a full range of services at an integrated service hub.
We commence with a single intake, assessment and triage process. Based on your needs, we create a single integrated care plan and a set of agreed-upon outcome measurements.
Our team work with individuals, families and carers, at home or in the community. We provide individual or group programs as well as family and carer programs to provide tailored and holistic support to allow people to live functional and fulfilling lives.

Stride Take 2 is a free family mental health support service, providing an early intervention service focused specifically on the needs of children and young people within a family context. We support children and families in Cairns City, Cairns North (Brinsmead to Palm Cover), Cairns South and Redlynch.
Services will accept referrals of children and young people from any source, including self-referrals, and conduct an initial brief screening process to ensure this is the appropriate service for them.
A formal diagnosis of mental illness is not required to access these services. The young person might be experiencing sadness, excessive worry, fear, anger, fatigue, or boredom; having difficulties with peers, or struggling to cope with a significant life event.
Our services are flexible and designed to meet the diverse and specific needs of families in the Cairns North, South and City area. Our aim is to help improve the mental health and wellbeing of kids and teens while working with each family.
